jdc2204 Posted May 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2015 We are doing some future planning and would like to hear the Pro's and Con's of very early shoulder season Alaska cruise/tours. We are Loyal to Royal. We did the south bound inside passage in August but never early May. Please share your experience of early shoulder cruising Alaska. Thanks to this great board. Coralc Posted May 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Well, I don't know which one to answer. If your USER CP settings aren't set to subscribe to any thread you post on....then you need to go up to "Thread Tools" upper right, and click on "Subscribe to this thread" so you can find them again. We wouldn't cruise in early May to Alaska again. We went in 2007, and it was the most snow they had, had in 40 years. Hubbard Glacier was unapproachable. The snow was up over the train roof in Skagway, we rode through a big white tunnel. With the exception of whales, otters and eagles, the land animals were still sleeping. Obviously it is weather dependent. We would probably go in July or August if we went again, just to see more land mammals. :D
