cole'snana Posted June 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Marina? Your opinion? We need one night post cruise. It looks good as it's close to the port and airport, and has a water taxi stop.
royalcruz Posted June 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2015 I like it there. Do you have a specific question?
ger_77 Posted June 5, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2015 We've stayed there a couple of times because we like the location. The bathroom doors are a little odd; they are "barn door" type that roll on a track, so there isn't a lot of privacy, if you know what I mean.;) It is within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, Walgreens, etc., and you can see the ships in port in the morning. Smooth Sailing ! :) :) :)

eandj Posted June 5, 2015 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) If looking for a good hotel with a water taxi stop, collection from FL airport, and a cruise port shuttle, then consider The Pillars. This is a smaller boutique type hotel. Not comparable to Hilton. It will usually run at least a third $$$ more. The shuttle wouldn't do pick ups from the port and to FLL even with their cruise package. And it's further from everything. I agree it''s a very nice property. Just not what the OP asked. Our next favourite would be Hilton Diplomat in Holywood. Would thus suit?
eandj Posted June 5, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Our next favourite would be Hilton Diplomat in Holywood. Would thus suit? Hollywood is even further from the port. I remember close to a $30 cab ride. We stayed at the hotel a couple times for longer stays when it was the Westin. Pretty property. But for one night post cruise, it sounds like the OP wants something in Ft Lauderdale.
Grandma Rambo Posted June 6, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 6, 2015 We stayed there a few months ago pre-cruise. We had a tower room overlooking the yachts. Beautiful hotel. A very good experience in all. Fabulous breakfast. They allowed us to return after the cruise and hang out in their large, lovely lobby. If we wanted, they would give us a key to the dressing room so that we could use the pool. We would go back again if we ever cruise out of FLL again.
sprockie Posted June 6, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 6, 2015 What low key restaurants are around this location for breakfast? This hotel sounds great, but we travel with our kids and look for casual, low key kinds of places for meals.
mollyanne Posted June 7, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Einstein Bagel at 1499 SE 17th St Causeway is within walking distance.

Then there's always Starbucks or Einsteins.
