suzan99 Posted June 9, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2015 Looking for the nicest beach close to Palma with beach chairs, restaurants, shops and watersports. We are only in Palma from 2-7 pm so we would take a taxi and spend 2-3 hours there.

michelle028 Posted June 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2015 Palma Nova , 10 miles from the dock Does anyone know how to take the public bus to Palma nova beach? Please give directions. And also how long would it take? And is it easy to take the bus back? Also - how much does a taxi cost for 4 adults just in case we don't take the bus? Any ideas? bugeater2 Posted June 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2015 This is the advice I got last year and it was perfect. I took the bus and no issues at all. Why hire a car??? Take the bus from outside the port gates to Palma Nova for a couple of Euros each way - two lovely clean, sandy beaches. Even in a taxi it will cost you less than 20€ each way. Car rental for just a few hours hire is an absolute rip off. We lived in Majorca for 12 years (we now live in mainland Andalucía) and can highly recommend Palma Nova beaches. If you don' t mind some rocks even nearer are Cala Mayor (small but very clean beach) and S'Illiot - about 10€ each way in a taxi.
diane.in.ny Posted February 25, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 25, 2016 This is the advice I got last year and it was perfect. I took the bus and no issues at all. I was wondering if you might remember the bus number to Palma Nova and where to catch it? Did you need exact change for the bus?
hkto Posted February 26, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) There is a beach near PMI airport (Playa De Palma) which probably the closest to city. Otherwise lots of beaches are reachable by 100 series TIB buses (Palmanova, Magaluf, Santa Ponca, etc). TIB 100 buses have 5 stops on Palma waterfront from Cathedral to ferry port so one of these stops should be in walking distance from cruise dock. Scheduled time to Palmanova is 30 min and Magaluf is 40 min but usually it takes longer due to traffic. Driver will give change list of buses: http://www.tib.org/portal/en/web/ctm/autobus/seccio/100 stops: http://www.tib.org/portal/en/web/ctm/autobus/linia/106 Edited February 26, 2016 by hkto
