Classic beverage package on Celebrity Millenium

We have a classic beverage pkg on Celebrity in Aug. We are basically wine-0's :) and not wine snobs, at that. (Frequently drink box wine) Is there any reason to upgrade to premium package? What is normal price for house wines?

(We can't pay the difference if we want more expensive. We have to pay full price.)

I suggest that you check out what you can get once on board, if you cannot find anything you want like within the package, upgrade to the Premium package then (it is pro rata at around $11.50 per day).:D

We had friends stay with the Classic in 2013 and had no problem with the Strawberry Hill on their pkg. They had no reason to upgrade as that was some good stuff to them.

But I had to upgrade my wifester! She found a $12 a glass red from Spain that she really liked, and there was no way I was paying 2-3-4-5 times the $12 a glass instead of the $12 one time fee for her to have unlimited glasses.

Labels mean nothing, taste means everything.

Agreed, but unless you try them you wouldn't know which is nicest.:D

We are like you, except for an occasional craft beer, our alcohol intake is limited to wine - and pretty much of it. We always just get the "Taste of the Vineyards" bottles of wine package and have found the classic to be fine for us. Only down side is you have to be prepared to lug your wine bottles around with you. You get them in the dining venues and can always uncork them in your room, but if you want a refill (as in the casino or at the pool) you need to pull your bottle from the bag and pour (I think the bottle at the pool may not be a good idea, but they have never stopped us).

However, it is a cost vs "handiness" difference. We do love the custom teas at al Bacio and they would be included in the classic package. We actually computed our actual cost difference after our last trip and found it was cheaper to stick to the bottles (which are handier to have in the room, plenty nearby and no bar running). We didn't spend as much of specialty tea, coffee, or craft beer as we might have thought.

Cost vs Convenience may apply to the majority of people, this is why I suggest people who do not have the package as a perk to go a sea day and see if it is worth buying a package. Same goes for those who have a Classic but may wish to upgrade, both are very easily done when on board.:D

We had the classic package on the Summit to Bermuda last month and, like you, are not wine snobs. We were able to get red, white or blush wines with meals, an occasional beer, cocktails and frozen drinks and after dinner cordials. The only drinks we paid for all week were the sangria pitchers in Qsine which I think we're about $26.

Perfect advice. Try the available selections, and if you don't like them, or tire of them, you can upgrade as late as 4-days left in the cruise.
