Cost of Internet on board P&O ships

Thinking of booking internet pack before boarding. Just wonder if better deals available on board. I know if you prebuy you do avois the one off connection fee. Thanks in anticipation

You don't avoid the connection charge. I would wait until I boarded as you always get a special offer if you take out the package on the day you board and get extra minutes. There are also usually special offers at various points during the cruise.

We purchased the 100 mins package for £35 prior to our cruise last month & got an additional / free 20 mins.

 

If you activate the internet on day 1 of the cruise you also get another additional 20 mins free, making a total of 140 mins for £35.

 

I assume something similar applies for the 250 mins package, which I believe is charged at £62.50.

 

I didn't really see any other 'special deals' offered on board apart from the free 20 mins.

 

One word of warning though, keep an eye on your account re your 'free' mins as it took 3 days for these to be applied to our account. We were told by the Librarian that she had to process vouchers etc for them to show.

Also, the connection is extremely slow. If you don;t need to be on the net every day, I would use your tablet or phone when ashore with free internet in most ports or in a cafe.

Go to the po cruise official website, on their downloadable brochures labelled 'little luxury', you could find internet package in last few pages.

I would just add that the internet speed is very slow and at times its akin to dial up !!!

 

We only used it to send and receive emails, which was fine for just text, but add a few photos and it would take up to 10 mins to send the email. That soon eats into the minutes you have bought.

 

Also, although on the Azura it had ship wide Wi Fi, some parts of the ship had a better faster connection than others. So sometimes it is best to try and find the "best spots".

We was on the Riviera deck and had a poor connection. Whereas my son and daughter had a cabin on the Lido deck which was good. We found a good connection at the stern of the ship nesr the adult pool.
