volmoma Posted July 16, 2015 #27 Share Posted July 16, 2015 If you bought FTTF then that would be why you have priority boarding, if not it should be platinum. You will know without a doubt when you pay your cruise off and check your boarding pass.

JGlennCruiser Posted July 16, 2015 #32 Share Posted July 16, 2015 To complicate this a little more, I have 3 cruises booked at the free casino rate, all are paid fully (just port fees and taxes) and on the third of the 3 I will pass the marker to become Platinum. It does not show Priority at this time but of course I have not reached the point where it alone would push me over the mark. As I complete cruises 1 and 2 and approach cruise 3 do you think that will change or since I've prepaid all 3 will I have to wait until the next cruise after these to be acknowledged as Platinum? Complete cruises 1and 2, it has to be days sailed. Something could come up and you might have to cancel one. Finish Cruises 1 and 2 then look at your boarding pass for the 3 rd cruises and you will be platinum..

Lisa30126 Posted July 27, 2017 #37 Share Posted July 27, 2017 We turn Platinum on the last day of our next 7-day cruise. I called Carnival and they told me, we wouldn't turn Platinum on this cruise. Bummer! I just checked our luggage tags and they say Priority. Thanks for the info everyone. Same for us - we turn Platinum on the 8th day of our 8 day Panama Canal April 2018 - just checked my luggage tags . . . . . "PRIORITY" :) thanks Carnival :D:D
candigirl41 Posted July 27, 2017 #38 Share Posted July 27, 2017 People at the port don't always know what's going on either. I checked in with my friend, we were in the same cabin. I was platinum she was gold, the rep told me I could board early but she had to wait as she wasn't platinum. I informed him, no we are in the same cabin. He found another rep who confirmed that I was correct. I wish all the people would be trained correctly either on the phone lines or at the port. A&Jfamily Posted July 28, 2017 #39 Share Posted July 28, 2017 I know this has been discussed before but I got a call from Carnival today asking if we wanted to book a cruise. As we will become platinum on our next cruise, day 4 if we do a 7 day, I asked if we would get the perks and priority check in for the cruise. She said no we don't. She said we will get the platinum card and perks but will not get priority checkin. I asked her if she was sure as I had heard differently, she said she was positive. Anyone know what really happens? Lol I turned Platinum on day 6 of my cruise and had all the perks from the time I printed my boarding pass. December Magic 2017. Seeing your post I just pulled mine up as my situation is not unlike your own. Our luggage tags say PRIORITY but they also have the FTTF emblem on them. Is this how they should look? I checked our excursions and we didn't forget we were turning Platinum and booked FTTF by mistake. Although, I just did a mock booking for FTTF and it did add it to my cart before I removed it. Apparently you can book FTTF regardless. But back to my question, is the FTTF emblem what I should be seeing and not a Platinum symbol or similar? Thank you

luv2trvlnow Posted July 29, 2017 #50 Share Posted July 29, 2017 When you are Platinum your luggage tags will say Priority and have the FTTF logo. People with FTTF will have the logo but not the word Priority on the luggage tags. Your boarding pass should only have Priority no FTTF logo. I paid attention since I purchased FTTF on one cruise and then turned Platinum on the next cruise. This was in the last year and a half.
