Prepay gratuities?

We always prepay our gratuities. Makes it easier to budget my onboard spending. Sometimes we do it when we book, but most of the time we just call our PVP before our final payment to have them added.

If I can pay for some of my charges ahead of time, that is a good thing for me!

I think this is the logic my travel-mate is using.

For me, I like to keep my money in my accounts as long as possible. No need to give it to Carnival early, I spend the same either way.

Different strokes for different folks.

We've never pre-paid gratuities before either, but my best friend and traveling mate would like to this trip - I really wish it wasn't an "all or none" thing (meaning all in the cabin must, or none in the cabin) - but no biggie, it's $90 and not breaking the bank. It's on my list of to-do now that we're paid off. :)

Not saying it will, but, last cruise I prepaid the gratuities and wouldn't you know, the "grat" rate was raised a bit later. My rate stayed the same.

Mind you, I always prepay when I book so it's one less thing to concern myself with.

I also prepay, and I buy cruise cash. I try to do this when our $$ is on an upswing which hasnt happened in a while  I like to have as much paid for before the cruise as possible. I just give Carnival a call and they get it done.
