Pizza girl Posted July 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2015 We are considering taking our one year old on the Splendor in November. I know she is not allowed in any pools. Does the Splendor have a "splash area" for children in swim diapers?

Ascott318 Posted July 17, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2015 Yes there is ,on Spa Deck which is deck 11. But I have often bought an inflatable bath and filled with water to put in shade on Lido also.

HawksFan74 Posted July 17, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 17, 2015 Yes, there is a splash park, but I don't think swim diapers are allowed.
chengkp75 Posted July 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2015 Many people confuse a splash area with an "infant only recreational water facility" as the USPH calls them. Unless the following three things are present at the splash area, it is not for children in swim diapers: 1. A sign visible stating that swim diapers are allowed, and reminding parents to change their children frequently 2. A crewmember on location dedicated to attending to the splash area 3. A changing table or similar facility that has a supply of swim diapers available for use. These infant only areas are relatively new, and cannot be readily retrofitted to ships, due to the requirements of greater turn-over in water, separated water supply from other water facilities, and most importantly a UV sterilizer in the water recirculation system (along with other construction requirements for safety). To the best of my knowledge, no Carnival ship has one of these facilities. Currently, only Disney and the RCI Freedom and Oasis class ships have them. JinxyB Posted July 17, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2015 That splash area would be inappropriate for an infant/toddler anyways. It is really slippery and they have sandbags to break the kids' stops from going so fast down the slides. My 4 y/o slipped really bad up there and refused to go back. There is not much seating around for parents, either.
