serendipity1499 Posted October 21, 2015 #26 Share Posted October 21, 2015 (edited) Dress shirts with short sleeves are known as sport shirts. And I'm only 55 and I know the difference. My dad thought be right. Well then, you had better contact the Buyers at Nordstrum, Macy's, Dillard's, J.C. Penny etc. & tell them that their advertising is improper! The so called dress shirts are being sold at Nordstrom's for USD $45..The ones in Macy's, J.C. Penny's or Dillards are less.. ;) http://shop.nordstrom.com/sr?keyword...Default&page=1 http://www1.macys.com/shop/search?ke...e+dress+shirts Oh, & don't forget to contact the Buyers's for "Brooks Brothers" who is selling this short sleeve dress shirt with pearl buttons for $195 . http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Short-Sleeve-Button-Down-Shirt/FE00262,default,pd.html?dwvar_FE00262_Color=WHIT&contentpos=21&cgid=0714 BTW I searched in Brooks Brothers for short sleeve dress shirts & three more popped up: http://www.brooksbrothers.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-brooksbrothers-Site/default/Search-Show?q=short%20sleeve%20dress%20shirt Guess we can sue them all for "False Advertising" LOL /SIZE] Edited October 21, 2015 by serendipity1499
avian777 Posted October 21, 2015 #27 Share Posted October 21, 2015 (edited) It's always interesting when posters tell us "how clueless many people are about 'fashion etiquette' " and then go on to tell us how insular and parochial they are... Short-sleeve dress shirts are the only thing one can wear with a Bermuda-short suit ... ... as people who are not high school math teachers are wont to say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do ..." Rare POA1 Posted October 21, 2015 #29 Share Posted October 21, 2015 Betty...I usually wear capri s with a nice top on Smart Casual nights. Have never felt out of place. I feel bad that the ladies are being left out of the whole dress shirt sleeve length thing. With that in mind, are we really comfortable with Capris? Those are basically short sleeved pants. ;)
avian777 Posted October 21, 2015 #30 Share Posted October 21, 2015 (edited) Do you mean pinch the women and pickpocket the men? No, I most certainly did not mean to say anything that would slander Romans, but feel free to draw whatever (other) inferences you want from my comment ...
