I check almost daily and no drops for us. Actually since we've booked, our price has gone up almost $320. We're on Lido with a balcony. Wish it would drop and get a decent OBC.

I have also booked a Lido deck balcony and it was quite awhile before I saw a fare drop, and it was nothing in comparison to what others were getting. But I did get 2 small fare drops so far on my May 24, 2016 sailing so don't give up hope!

What does OBC mean? Never mind I figured it out.

Going on Vista May 24, Athens to Barcelona, 10-day. Booked a family oceanview in family area. And we are the two of us, over 55! But I liked the extra space in the oceanview and two bathrooms so I can have my own! We can use the family lounge area which will include breakfasts, snacks, games etc. I love kids so I don't think it will be a problem. This was the best room I could find for oceanview available on my casino offer which was amazing!

Question is? Do you think many people will be sailing with small children on a port intensive European cruise?

Also, if cruise leaves on the 24th, and we are flying in from U.S., can someone suggest when we should arrive and where to stay in Athens? We don't have extra time unfortunately, we have a business and 3 dogs and have to get back. Will it be okay to get off ship in Barcelona on last day and head right to airport? do you think we will make it out safely? Coming into Athens, I figure we will need to stay overnight at least one night. I would love to do a tour one day in Athens if we can manage!

Last, how do we pay for things on excursions going to different countries?

Any suggestions on airline to fly from US to Athens?

Thanks for any help.

I can tell you when I cruised into Barcelona I had to go straight to the airport. I've had to do this in Venice also. Self-assist your luggage if necessary and hey, someone has to get off first! Cabs are waiting.

I chuckled about the family suite thing...just so you know there may be lots of banging doors and running around! Though there may not be many kids on the ship as a whole; they will mostly all be where you are! And, it is likely to be smaller children as they can miss school easier.

You'll need euros or a credit card while on an excursion.

If you haven't already done so, please come over and join our roll call - it is very active and a great group of folks!

My son and I are flying out on Saturday the 21st, arriving on Sunday the 22nd. That gives us dinner in Athens on the 22nd, all day Monday and a half day Tuesday before boarding the ship.

There are various hotels that others on the roll call have selected for various reasons. The Plaka Hotel, Athens Gate and a number of others. Check Trip Advisor for reviews and you will easily find one that works for you.

You should have no problem getting off in Barcelona and flying home. We had a very smooth experience in that port in 2013. I would not schedule an early morning flight, but other than that you should have no problems.

I would say try looking at a map of Athens before booking a tour - from the looks of it, most of the typical tourist sites are very walkable and it appears easily done on your own.

How you pay will depend on any number of things, for example - if you join a Rome in Limo tour everyone on the tour has to pay the same way (either pay ahead by credit card or pay after the tour in cash) so you may have to go with the flow on something like that.

Again, please come over to the roll call and see all that is being offered in that thread! Looking forward to chatting more!

In May there wont be lots of kids as we are still in school in these parts but you will get a few families from both sides of the Atantic. If your cruise was July/August it would be a different story as Med cruises are very popular with European families at those times.

Even if there were lots of families in the cabins around you it wouldn't matter too much. We always sail while schools out therefore families are never far from our cabin. You hear kids running and shouting now and again but its hardly noticable. I don't think the new lounge will make much difference to that.

Enjoy your cruise.

What is the best way to ask a Carnival Booking Agent to change fare? Meaning, what sites are the best to reference without doing a mock booking?

Farefinder and ????

And are these legit and recognized by Carnival?

TIA!

Do you only get an obc from lower price after you pay full price.

Thanks

Yes, after you've paid in full, any price drop is given in on board credit. So far, I've gotten $720 obc... I will put it to good use! :)
