Suefranss Posted August 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2015 We have signed up on Oceania's website for a private excursion while we are in Israel next month. I know that there are companies in Israel that can offer the same tour at probably lower rates, but I was lazy and just booked with O. Since booking the excursion I have contacted O a couple of times to talk about what we will see and do, since I want to customize our time there. I am under the impression that you can do this when you pay for a private tour. I have not gotten any useful information from the cruise line. Oceania advertises themselves as "Destination Specialists", yet I have been told that there is no one who can help me. Anyway, I am fed up and just want to move on and use a well-recommended tour company in Israel and cancel my O excursions. If any of you have had experience with cancelling an excursion with Oceania, will you please give me your advice? I hope they will not play hardball and refuse. Thank you. Tansy Mews Posted August 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2015 You can cancel the excursion. The website says: No penalty assessed if you cancel excursions up to embarkation day. https://www.oceaniacruises.com/experience/ashore/ I think you can also do it online. Log into My Account and find your excursion. I am curious - how many people are supposed to be on the excursion? I didn't see any just for two. I suggest you join the Roll Call and check if someone still has room for you, if you wanted to join a group.

I believe they are call Executive Collection tours when you look under the excursions per port they are a private car/guide/drive for up to a certain number of people depending on the car/tour I have seen the vehicles listed for 2 to 14 pax you pay 1 price for the vehicle/driver/guide Not sure you can specify ahead of time what you want to do & see or you talk to the Destinations services onboard Maybe someone who has booked the private tours will comment Edited August 7, 2015 by LHT28

The reality is the Oceania itself is not providing the excursion so it will do little good to talk with any O personnel. Try one last time to see if you can find out what tour company is providing the services for Oceania customers. Then, deal directly with that company. Paulchili Posted August 8, 2015 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2015 You can cancel your excursion without any problem (as long as it is before the cancellation deadline). If you cancel it before boarding, the refund goes to your credit card; if you cancel on board, it will be in a form of an OBC (that can be cashed out). For truly private tours, you will be better off booking your own tours.
HotRoot Posted August 8, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 8, 2015 I think you can also do it online. Log into My Account and find your excursion. I do not think you can do it on line. You have to either call or email. I have cancelled three excursions by email and they were very helpful. No questions asked.
