Cozumel pier

In April we were on the Dream and the pier we were at had construction going on. This kept the rickshaws from being used. (I can't remember which pier other than it was the main one for Carnival near El Cid)

 

We are sailing again the first of December and have folks with limited mobility.

I don't want to tell you wrong but we just went in July and I know we came into Punta Langosta pier and rickshaws were there...I also saw a golf cart or two..not sure if Puerta Maya or International were under construction but it looked like one to the right of Punta Langosta was being worked on. I can't remember for sure but I want to say Puerta Maya was where we were supposed to be but ended up docking at Punta Langosta. Construction could indeed be the reason. Good luck!:)

I was just docked twice in Puerta Maya and the rickshaws were there and operating.

The Puerta Maya port schedule shows the Dream docked from 9AM-5PM on November 30th - I assume that's your cruise?

I have to correct myself - the Puerta Maya schedule shows Dream in port on December 4th. (10AM-6PM). Not sure where I got Nov. 30th.... sorry. :(

We docked at Puerto Maya during the week of May 31st. There was construction on the pier because they are adding another pier that will allow at least two more ships. It's walkway is joined into the existing pier on the right side as you walk toward the beach. The bicycle rickshaws were running while we were there. AND Pancho's Back Porch had the two person wooden xylophone players with the first woman player I have ever seen there. The margaritas, guacamole with cheese, and salsa were as good as ever.

Am I understanding correctly: 3 piers on the west side of island. In San Miguel the pier is Punta Langosta. Farther South are two piers, the smaller one is the International Pier and the longer one connecting to the duty free "house" is Puerta Maya? The International Pier is mainly used by NCL. Puerta Maya was/is actually a Carnival property built and maintained by them. Punta Langosta is the older pier and connects to San Miguel downtown....does RCCL use this pier?

Mostly correct - there are three piers on the west side as you describe. International, is the pier used by RCCL. NCL usually docks downtown (Punta Langosta) but it has been known to use the other piers or tender on occasions - just depends on time of year and number of ships.

A month ago they were nearly finished with that extra pier they were building at the Puerta Maya pier which is the Carnival dock, and the pedi cabs were running.
