kahliasmom Posted August 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Can anyone tell me if and when the points on the bank of America rewards card begin to expire? I'm not sure if I should save for a cruise or use for shipboard credit.
FloridaPalms Posted August 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2015 They expire 5 years from the date earned. You can call BoA and they will let you know when and how many points are due to expire.
molly361 Posted August 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2015 And to add to the above you can not use the points for anything other than OBC or money off your cruise fare on any bookings that have BOGOHO or any other RCL promos on them, which is virtually all reservations these days. cruisenfever Posted August 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 16, 2015 And another add to the above, OBC from Visa points is completely refundable if not completely used and can be withdrawn at Guest Services the day prior to debarkation.

Does that mean I'm better off using the points go OBC? Is it pretty much impossible to use the points for a cruise?

Does that mean I withdraw them for money at Guest Services? I leave on my cruise in less than 2 weeks. Do I still have time to at the points to this cruise for OBC? Do I still have time to at the points to this cruise for OBC? You should have time to redeem points for your upcoming cruise, but you need to do it ASAP!! Points are redeemed electronically now, so they post pretty quickly...you redeem 5,000 pts for each $50 in OBC...and yes...you can get cash from guest services if you do not use all your OBC...but usually not until the last day...if you set up your onboard account as a cash account then you could go to the casino & withdraw cash & not be charged the 5% fee. Here is the link for redeeming your points online... https://www.managerewardsonline.com/RMSapp/Ctl/entry?pid=grprwd&mc=RCCL Edited August 17, 2015 by kc320

I have 25,000 points so that could cover gratuities or an excursion or two though on my upcoming canada/new England cruise I have booked my excursions privately.
