Oasis Skype

Has anyone had any luck with Skype on Oasis. Or with any other messaging service using just wifi. I am hoping to stay in contact with my wife on the ship with my phone in the airplane mode. We purchased the two device wifi package on the Oasis.

 

Any help is appreciated.

On the Oasis in July we had excellent internet with no buffering problems. It was as good as we have here at home. However we never got around to Skype. Someone we met in the CL did and had no problem.

 

They call their service ZOOM for good reason.

I have never tried Skype on a ship, but there is an app called Ripple. It might be worth checking out.

I used Skype last year on the September TA when they were trying out the new system. It worked great, even in the middle of the ocean. In June I didn't use Skype, but had no problems with Internet.

We have used FaceTime on Oasis and Allure. If it doesn't work going out have the person you are trying to contact return your call. In the past more data was allowed incoming than outgoing. I don't think it is as relevant as in the past with the new zoom Internet.
