Dream - Lunch on embarkation day

Head to the Pasta Bar upstairs from the Lido as you head toward the back(stern) of the ship. Less crowded, good food. You might also enjoy the Tandori Grill on the aft deck. Depending on the time you get there, you can find covered seating.

First meal served in the MDR is dinner.

Yes there is a deli. It's one of my favorites for lunch. Having said that, if you want to try the pasta, the first day or within a day or two is the place to go. After that it gets very crowded.

On sea days there is also a BBQ outside on the Lanai. It has really good chicken quesadillas. I never liked them until I tried them on Dream a couple of weeks ago.

Best bet is to go to Pasta Bella, located on deck 11, just above the back of the Buffett. Take the rear elevator to deck 11, you come out at the entrance to it. Not crowded since not many cruisers know about it...

Thanks!! We're headed there in a few weeks. Skipping lido buffet is a great plan!

Thank you. Think we'll head to pasta bar! 34 days...can't wait!!!

We're on right after you, so keep her clean for us! :D

Your cruise is even more sold out than ours. I always thought late September was a slower time to cruise. Guess not. lol

no it isn't but like they have said above, try the Pasta Bella, it isn't crowded the first few days but it gets crowded later in week. We have sailed the Dream twice and enjoyed it very much. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I also recommend Pasta Bella. No crowd and the food is good. My son went back the next day for lunch! Every time I mentioned it to someone they did not know it existed. We were on the Dream last week. I also recommend trying Tandoori. It is only open a few hours a day so don't miss it.

What this dude said! We were on the Dream a little over a year ago and I had read about the pasta place beforehand. There literally was nobody in that place from the time we walked in, until we left after eating on embarkation day.

hmmmm....I wonder about our cruise. We are sailing out of San Juan at 10 PM but can board as early as 2:30 PM.

Wonder if lunch will be available....

Wonder if dinner in the dining room will be available.....

I'm sailing on this cruise too. I am guessing you are talking about the Journeys cruise. If this cruise is like the others I have sailed on from San Juan, there will be lunch served, but it won't be in the dining room. Boarding starts about the same time as all other cruises and many people board and drop off their things, then do tours etc. in San Juan.

In the past, dinner was served but there wasn't an early and late seating. It was more like ATD, or open dining as people are arriving at all different times.

There are many who arrive the day before the cruise, so Carnival makes arrangements to accommodate them. Sailing so late changes a few things, but the next day is back to normal.
