Guarentee room on conquest

Don't want to EVER go through that again.

Then why risk it by booking a guarantee room again ?

Seems to me it would be more than worth it to pay slightly more to choose a cabin you will enjoy. How much would you have paid during that week to insure you could sleep soundly the rest of your cruise.

I always carefully choose my cabin - so no surprises.

I was in a "night owl" room on the Conquest on my first Carnival cruise. It was a balcony right above the casino bandstand. The music was very loud and went on till the wee hours. Because of that, I have never booked a guarantee cabin. My advice is to pay a little more and select your own cabin unless you're willing to end up with a very noisy cabin.

The only reason I ask is because my wife and I cruised on the Destiny in a "night owl" room and didn't sleep the entire week due to the music from the disco. Don't want to EVER go through that again.

I would actually like that, LOL. It would probably help me sleep, but I doubt I would be in bed anyway before the "disco" closed. :D

Following: I booked a guarantee balcony on conquest 10-17-15. I'm going solo with my three kids, so I'm hoping it's not in a noisy area, but I have a white noise app to help me, and the kids sleep through everything.

That's what we thought too. One night the music played until 5:45 am!!

Thought about sleeping on the lido deck in a lounge chair.

Then don't do a guarantee room..... If you are picky then pay the extra to get the room of your choice. Beggars cant be choosers.

If I booked a guarantee Balcony room on Conquest, are there any rooms that I would wish that I didn't get?

Only booked a GTY room once before and got lucky but don't want to be miserable all week.

Thanks

I'm not sure what the answers can do to help you if you have already booked the guarantee. If you are over the band area at the edge of the casino, it will be loud enough to vibrate the room floors and walls while the band is playing.

I can attest to that! The band's speakers are on the ceiling, which is the floor of the cabins above. It literally sounded like the band was in our cabin, and the floor and walls did vibrate. I didn't get it as a guarantee either. It was my first Carnival cruise and my FORMER PVP helped me select the cabin and assured me there would be no noise from the casino.

OP can switch from GTY to a balcony cabin away from the noise by paying the extra cost, and believe me, I would do it.

We did a guarantee balcony on the conquest. We were assigned room 6239. It was in the front of the ship above the main lounge. You could hear the music from the shows in the evening - not the cabin we would have picked but not the worst either. We loved having a balcony on deck 6 - being the lowest deck of balconies and close to the water.
