teachberry Posted August 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2015 We are scheduled for our first cruise on the Viking Skirnir next July. The trip info says tea and coffee are complimentary and available at a 24-hour coffee bar. Anyone know if this is how it works? We don't drink alcoholic beverages so really don't want to buy the drink package. Will it be necessary for us non drinkers? Thanks.
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Welcome to Cruise Critic. There are many different boards here at CC. One of them is for River Cruising. If you go back to the main boards page, and scroll down to the river Cruising forum I'm sure there will be people there who can answer all of your questions, maybe some you didn't even know you had...EM

tipsygirl Posted August 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Teachberry, We have sailed on two of the Viking longships, like the Skirnir. To save you a little time checking through the river roll calls, which can be confusing....The coffee/tea on the longships is a very nice self service machine that serves several types of coffee drinks, latte, capuccino, etc. Also has a hot water spout to mix up hot cocoa (packages at the station), or make hot tea (several selections at the station). Two are located in the central part of the ship just outside the main lounge one one each side, so are easily accessed any time. Viking also doesn't have a prohibition to your bringing your own drinks on board, including no corkage for wine. We have even taken our own wine into the lounge as well as the restaurant. So you could bring your own nonalcoholic beverages on board also so you have them available when you like.
