Entertainment worth paying for ?

Your thoughts ?

It might help if you specified which entertainment option you are asking about.

There are plenty of free entertainment options. When I sailed Breakaway in the past, I generally found the entertainment to be excellent. The only thing I paid extra for was the Cirque show, which in my opinion is worth paying to see once. I didn't think the dinner was anything great, but I was impressed with the show itself. I saw it a second time when I sailed again with family members who hadn't seen it before. We will be on the ship again in a little over a week, and I don't feel the need to pay for it a third time, but my dd is disappointed and wants to see it. So maybe some of my OBC will go to that expense.

Keep in mind "worth" is very subjective. But if you are worried that you'll feel bored or like you are missing out if you don't do any of the up-charge entertainment, I don't think it's necessary to have fun on board the ship.

Absolutely subjective. I've paid for Illusionarium on Getaway based on fabulous reviews and as a treat for my teen nephew who loves magic. I'm looking forward to the show and his reaction. He is a big "do over" kid and I won't be surprised if he asks to see it again. Unless the casino is generous it won't happen, lol.

That's a question only you can answer. Would you pay to see that show if you were not on a cruise? Personally, my husband and I are not into these shows. We have see cirque de soleil shows before. They are very neat and if you have never seen one then I would recommend it at least once at some point. It doesn't have to be on the boat. You have paid for other entertainment that is built into your cruise fare so perhaps you might want to use your money to see a show off the boat and take advantage of what you have already paid for.

Tickets to land based Cirque shows normally cost $65 and up and don't include any food or beverage. Given, the shows on the NCL ships are done on a smaller scale and more intimate, but the price is also a lot lower and includes dinner. And the shows have been really fantastic, so yes, I think they are worth paying extra to see these once. It's kind of like the Ice bar. You go to the Ice bar once and have that experience and that's it.
