El Cid pay as you go

Wondering if anyone has been to El Cid recently and done the pay as you go vs the AI? Our family doesn't drink, so the AI won't be worth the money. All I am finding is old threads from like 2014 were the price was like $16 p/p. Can you please give an up date on this?

Our family will be in Cozumel on the Dream Aug 2016. Then my DH & I will be there twice in Dec 2016. We will be on the cheap

Thank you!

You can contact the hotel. http://www.elcid.com/ceiba_beach/.

There may be a limit on the number of day cruisers they take. I'm not sure if they take reservations other than the AI package.

There are reasonably cheap places to go from the Puerta Maya pier. Money Bar is one and it's a short taxi ride from the pier. ($20 RT for 1-4 people)

Second the recommendation to go to Money Bar.

If you aren't doing AI, I'm not sure what the incentive to go to El Cid is.

I think the views from Money Bar are better too- you see the ocean, not the cruise ships.

I enjoy the Money Bar too but I have also been to and enjoyed El Cid.

If you dock at Puerta Maya, or International I think it does have its place. Sometimes you just want a break from the ship for a few hours and don't want the hassle, or expense of transport.

I see the Money Bar has chaises, food, and drinks. Is there shade from trees or umbrellas?

Umbrellas at tables. Not a lot of shade for loungers. You would be better posting this on a Money Bar, or new thread for more responses.

Good to know current prices! The AI day pass actually seems to have gone down from what I was quoted a couple of years ago but the non-AI has gone up!
