boopsahoy Posted September 18, 2015 #26 Share Posted September 18, 2015 Yea, except when you don't care about the 3rd and 4th passenger free since you only travel as a couple.... Then the prices are not so hot. Also we don't drink alcohol, so UBP is utterly worthless. ^THIS:eek:
phoenix2mn Posted September 18, 2015 #27 Share Posted September 18, 2015 And prices are dropping closer to sailing contrary to what some here have been saying recently. I just now moved from a studio to a balcony guarantee on the Getaway for the Oct 31 sailing. Totally free. how did you do that?

SMSACE6 Posted September 18, 2015 #29 Share Posted September 18, 2015 Well for me; as a solo cruiser, NCL has finally gotten me to stray from Carnival. I like to book a year out from cruise date, to have time to save and budget for my cruise, and the ships with studios, have always been a draw for me, but now, that they give me a break also on the Canadian/US dollar exchange rate, it is a no brainer. Escape, a new ship, with lots of bells and whistles, great entertainment, ends up costing me quite a bit less than Carnival. Time for me to try something """"new"""""!:) It is a year away, but so much for me to look forward to during that year.

Look for sail date price drop - NCL will give OBC for like a 1/4 of the drop or if its a major drop, they'll give you a low cost or free room upgrade; like Tinyturtle22 said. The worse NCL can say regarding getting freebies for price drops is 'No'.
SMSACE6 Posted September 19, 2015 #31 Share Posted September 19, 2015 Thanks for that tip. It sounds a lot easier than Carnival's early saver program. Even if the price I booked never drops, I am more than happy with it. I will keep checking the website though for price drops:)

Better to get OBC. However, if the Lounge is not important to you, then so be it. But personally, I don't thing an Inside Cabin is an upgrade. It has to be at least an OV or better yet a balcony.:)
