Rare LawDog61 Posted September 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2015 Returning to RCCL after several year ( hey, they left us west coasters stranded) for the Sept. 26 coastal on the Jewel. We have reserved MTD at 8:30 for the nights we are not in the speciality restaurants. How do we get a 2 seater in the MDR? Any way to reserve in advance? Thanks

Thanks I'd stop at the concierge desk outside the MDR as soon as you get on board and ask. We had the early dinner setting originally on our cruise and asked if we could switch as soon as we got on board, we were switched to a table for 4, but nobody else was booked there, and as a bonus it was a window seat. Loved it! Edited September 18, 2015 by jsswish
momof4_tn Posted September 18, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2015 In the past when we've reserved MTD it has asked whether we want to dine alone or with other passengers. We've chosen alone, so we've always been able to get a table for 2.
akcruz Posted September 18, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2015 With MTD you most likely will be placed at a table for 2, however be aware most of the tables are very close so it will almost feel as if you have tablemates.
bonvoyagebites Posted September 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2015 Awesome tips, thanks. We are on our first RCI trip in 3 weeks (but who is keeping track, really?).... I hope to also get 2 seat tables. But can adapt if needed :)
LikesToRaceCars Posted September 19, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2015 Never had a problem getting a 2 seat table, I just tend to ask for a 2 seater the first night and we are good to go the rest of the cruise. This is through MTD.
gerif Posted September 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2015 For MTD, they assume you want a table for the size of your party, so that's what you'll get unless you ask to sit with others.
newbiecruiser09 Posted September 19, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2015 We've always done MTD. When it was just DH and me, we asked for a 2 seater and almost always got a table by ourselves. One night we were put at a 4 top (no 2 seaters available) and then they asked if we'd mind another couple joining us. We didn't mind and had a lovely dinner with an interesting couple.
