Beverage packages on Celebrity

We presently have a classic package for our upcoming cruise and want to upgrade to Premium. Can this be done before our cruise or do we need to wait until on board.

You can do it before. I've done it on both my cruises with Celebrity and just called up and said I wanted to upgrade. There was no issue even with the first one where I had booked w/ a TA.

You have several options. You can upgrade before your trip (just call your travel agent of the cruise line if you booked direct) and the upgrade cost will be immediately billed to your credit card. You also can choose to upgrade once aboard the ship and they do make it easy. There will be a few tables set up around the ship where you can get your upgrade, or you simply ask any bartender or bar waiter who will immediately handle the transaction and add the appropriate sticker to your cruise card. If you do it onboard the cost is just added to your onboard account which can be advantageous to those that have a large onboard credit and want to use it cover all or part of the cost.

 

Another option (only available onboard) is that you could choose to upgrade after the first day of the cruise in which case you only pay for the remaining days. And unless they have changed the policy (which happens from time to time) you can upgrade one person in a cabin while onboard...whereas they require (or used to require) that both parties upgrade if doing it before the cruise. I am hedging on this issue since we have not been on Celebrity for 10 months and the policy of whether only one can upgrade never seems to be set in stone.
