emac32214 Posted September 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2015 My first cruise and it's a surprise for my husband's birthday. (He's been on one cruise but it was like 15+ years ago) On the 3 night Enchantment cruise, do most people leave the ship at Nassau? We don't arrive until noon so I don't know if it's worth a day pass to one of the resorts. Was considering just staying on the ship with him (he likes to take it easy on vacation) but not if it will be packed. Experience with what % of people leave the ship for the half Nassau day on the 3 night trip?

The Solarium pool did not get crowded the entire day.

2CatsInFlorida Posted September 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2015 Most people leave the ship, it will seem empty and some onboard shops will be closed. We get off the ship and just browse Nassau by the pier and the straw market. There is a Señor Frogs restaurant nearby.

Hi - I can't get it to open either, but would also appreciate a reposting as we will be on this same cruise in a few weeks. Michael - your other three reviews were most helpful. How great that you can now easily drive to the port for a quick getaway. Thanks - Kay
emac32214 Posted September 22, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted September 22, 2015 I figured out how to search for reviews and found the one from Dec 2014. :) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2140183 Hope this link works.
monctonguy Posted September 29, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 29, 2015 It wont be packed, based on my experiences. I wouldn't spend my money on a day pass if only get in there at noon. It would be prob closer to 2pm before you get to where your going for the day pass. Not much time at all. Enjoy the ship being less busy, or take some time to stroll around Nassau if you like for free. Cheap food and drinks to be had close to the pier. Rare CruisinCrow Posted September 29, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 29, 2015 We always get off the ship in Nassau. The last time we got in at noon, we went to lunch at the Fish Fry (a street of restaurants with authentic Bahamian food), then walked up to John Watling's rum distillery for a few drinks. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.
