sunny seas Posted September 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2015 How soon is information available on guest speakers and entertainers on a cruise.? We are sailing in 15 weeks time. Would have thought that celebrities would have been booked by now. We are on the first leg of the world cup from Southampton to Santiago. Would be grateful for any info sunny seas :)
annieuk Posted September 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2015 You won't have any of this information until you get on board. Things can change at the last minute so I can understand that P&O don't want to publish details in advance in case they have to be changed - and then people would moan. gadabout60 Posted September 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2015 Not sure if there is any guarantee of a "celebrity" on P&O these days !
dallas16 Posted September 24, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2015 I think the current trend for P and O is either lower cost performers who aren't big name stars yet or people who were more famous in other decades such as Roy Walker along with people who have been on TV talent shows like X factor or the voice, have seen P and O are doing a special cruise with a lady who won The Voice a few years ago. I'm not sure whether P and O have as many big name speakers as they used to last time I cruised in 2009

lostboys Posted September 25, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2015 We were an Aurora earlier this year & Mick Miller was on in the theatre on 2 separate nights which we really enjoyed. We also had Leon de Ste Croix, the cruise director give a fantastic talk on the solar system. Our next cruise is a northern lights cruise so im hoping we have a good speaker on the subject for that one.
sunny seas Posted September 25, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted September 25, 2015 On our last 17night cruise in April there was 1 speaker, and 1 topic really with sessions spread over the duration, If you weren't interested in Concorde then that was it. Hubby went to the first couple but then got a bit bored with it. I didn't go to any as not my interest. It would have been nice to have a choice of topics although I appreciate they can't suit everyones interest. sunny seas
