Taxes & fees - solo cruisers - new website

Comparing a Jan 3 cruise on the Navigator already booked on May 31 with a new booking today for the same cruise on RCL website .

 

The taxes and fees for a single booked in May were $ 119. 25.

 

Today those taxes and fees have jumped to $ 235.28.

 

It appears that RCL is NOW charging close to double taxes and fees for solo cruisers, where in the PAST they only charged once for a single.

 

Has anyone else experienced this ?

fees change for a variety of reasons. are you positive that the increase is only for solo cruisers?

Taxes and fees are $117.79 for that sailing

When you select 1 person, you have to click update or it will proceed as if you left it at 2.

Yes, the charge for taxes and fees for the Jan 3, 2016 cruise on the Navigator are $ 235.28 for two people.

 

The charges for a solo on the same cruise is also $ 235.28.

What?! Do you mean to tell me that the new website improvements are imperfect?! With the corporations amazing IT reputation? Huh.

 

Seriously, if you want to book that cruise today or very soon, call and ask about the taxes. If you are not booking right away, maybe be patient to see if they work out the bugs....or email or call in and give them a heads up.

I agree. Seems like an error. I thought that all cruise lines only charge for one person (solo) for taxes, etc. because by law they could not charge double. We shall have to wait and see. Katherine

I booked a solo cruise last night on the old site and look again this morning and its the same price.
