DreamingBig1 Posted October 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2015 Does NCL let cruisers bring butane lighters aboard their ships?
SteveH2508 Posted October 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2015 Yes but not the refills (assuming you mean an ordinary cigarette lighter and not those blowtorch types).

cb at sea Posted October 6, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 6, 2015 If you're flying, it will need to be in checked bags....a "torch" style lighter isn't allowed on planes...but a bic lighter is.
TrumpyNor Posted October 6, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) If you're flying, it will need to be in checked bags....a "torch" style lighter isn't allowed on planes...but a bic lighter is. This is true. My husband bought one of those "torch" style lighters on board, with the NCL logo, and had it in his hand luggage when we were flying home, and the security at the airport confiscated it.... He was actually told that that specific type was not allowed in checked luggage either.... Edited October 6, 2015 by TrumpyNor
DreamingBig1 Posted October 6, 2015 Author #8 Share Posted October 6, 2015 Thanks for the responses. I will just have to light my cigar with a bic. Butane lighters are too expensive to chance being confiscated.

Torch lighters are allowed in checked baggage for airline flights. You just cannot have them in carry on baggage.
