Canadian Guider Posted October 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2015 Our Carnival cruise in December departs from Port Canaveral. We are a party of 5 in need of a shuttle service from Orlando airport to the cruise dock. Any recommendations? What is the driving time from the airport to the port? For comparison, how much would a taxi cost?

vegasglitz Posted October 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2015 We always rent a car from Orlando airport to Cape Canaveral. It usually costs under $50 each way or nothing if we use CC points. We like that option so we can explore before our cruise, plus when we drop the car off they take us to port.
mississauga Posted October 10, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2015 For a group of 5, renting a van is probably the most economical way to go. It takes approx. 50 mins to drive to the car rental in Cape Canaveral. They have free shuttles to the port.
NikkiJ1983 Posted October 10, 2015 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2015 I agree with the previous poster. It took us about 45 minutes to drive and we rented a van. Got it for super cheap on the name your own price site. Driver dropped the group (6 of us total) at the port with the luggage while he shot over to the rental car place to turn it in then caught a shuttle back to the port. We did the same thing in reverse on the way home.
JohninDC Posted October 10, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 10, 2015 The drive is easy and having a vehicle will allow you to stay where you want and to dine where you want the night before your cruise. Sometimes two smaller cars are cheaper than renting a mini-van. If you prefer to leave the driving to someone else or are pressed for time check with Cocoa Beach Shuttle & CoreTrans for shuttles and Executive VIP for private transport. Good luck! Langley Cruisers Posted October 15, 2015 #10 Share Posted October 15, 2015 We are a party of 5 in need of a shuttle service from Orlando airport to the cruise dock. Any recommendations? Yes, I recommend Cortrans Shuttle service, $20.00 per person, pay when you get there, not in advance. Excellent, professional service, neat and sweet. Sometimes it's better to just take a shuttle bus and be done with it, leaving the driving to someone else. We have never rented a car just as transportation from point A to B, but I know many people do so. We just don't want the hassle of trying to find a gas station and such. http://www.cortrans-shuttle.com/ <--click here for info .
