nt13 Posted October 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2015 We will arrive in Cape Canaveral the day before our cruise departs with our children ages 8 and 5. I am looking for something to do in the morning before we embark. Any suggestions? I'd love to go to Kennedy Space Center but am concerned we won't have enough time since it looks like an all day visit. Any input on whether Kennedy Space Center the morning of is worthwhile is also appreciated. Thank you!
GTO-Girl Posted October 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2015 Snce you can go to the terminal early and usually be onboard by 11:30, by the time you have breakfast and head to the port I am not sure if you would have time to do a lot. But I am sure some of the local folks will have some good suggestions for you if you are going to the port later in the day. I do hope you have a great cruise!! Capt_BJ Posted October 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2015 KSC ... NO ... costs way too much for just a quick visit. There's a mini-golf place between the Resid' Inn and the Radisson as aid, you can be on board b4 noon in many cases
nt13 Posted October 14, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted October 14, 2015 Thank you! How long do you think KSC should be allotted if you don't mind me asking? We may come down earlier so we can go the day before.
Capt_BJ Posted October 14, 2015 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2015 an adult ticket is $50, child $40 they open at 9 and close before dark, but this time varies, right now 6pm basic admission includes a bus tour that takes about 2 hours and there can be a wait to get on this tour there are also additional optional bus tours to see 'other stuff' add all this together and I think a "full day" is warranted altho I don't stay until they push me out the gate .... getting there early ensures you see most with less wait. https://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/

Orlando Vic Posted October 14, 2015 #8 Share Posted October 14, 2015 Any input on whether Kennedy Space Center the morning of is worthwhile is also appreciated. Thank you! Just remember that KSC is not a theme park. Ideally, one should have some interest in science & technology to get the most out of it. Small children may become easily bored. nt13 Posted October 15, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted October 15, 2015 Thanks all! My children love museums, space, history, etc., so I am sure it would be fun for them, but we will have to make sure we have enough time.
Vmalcolm Posted October 18, 2015 #11 Share Posted October 18, 2015 My 5 year old grandson loved the Dinosaur Museum (store!). I don't think it opened till 10 though. He also enjoyed walking on the beach looking for shells.
