cvpends Posted October 27, 2015 #28 Share Posted October 27, 2015 One night was "country star Ric Steel," who probably isn't an actual since he appears to do only covers. There was a vocal impressionist who was not at all our cup of tea. One night there was a combination of those two. Another night they had the piano bar gal doing a Princess Theater show. That sounds like patchwork to me. There was one night that looked good, but we got there late and the house was packed. It was Alfred and Seymour, plus a comic (whose name escapes me) who was at the embarkation show and was good. I can't remember what was going on in the Vista other than bingo and movies. I was sure I put the Patters in my suitcase so I could answer questions like this, but I can't find them. Jim Thank you. I would have been disappointed also in that case. jasbo49 Posted October 27, 2015 Author #29 Share Posted October 27, 2015 Hi, We were on the same cruise, although we really enjoyed our cruise and had a great time the ship is quite shabby. There were several buckets catching drips in the Horizon cafe and the leaks even resulted in one side of the access route being coned off. The ship does need a refit or at least some money spending on it to get it in better shape. The photographers were a nuisance. Pete Hello, Pete. I guess it was just luck of the draw whether we ran into buckets or not. Obviously, we didn't. What other things did you find shabby? All I saw was a stained carpet in the Caribe hallways. cflutist Posted October 27, 2015 #30 Share Posted October 27, 2015 I thought the ship was fine for an "old lady" for our 10/17 - 10/24 2015 cruise. My only complaint would be that there were stains in the toilet in C415 (PH suite) although the toilet worked fine. However, we also stayed in C415 on the Star Princess in January 2015 and the condition of the furniture and cabinets on the Grand were better than the Star (broken hinges, drawers that wouldn't close all the way or would get stuck). Sailing on the Grand next year to Hawaii so I hope she holds up :D

Did you report the Star problems so that they might get fixed for future passengers?
