SwadFox Posted November 11, 2015 #26 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Thanks CruiseIreland and Skier52, that's really useful info. I think the Basic Package might be the way forward although the Beer selection looks pretty dreadful, it could be a week on the spirits to make it pay ! Just another query if anyone knows. Do they charge for Tea/Coffee everywhere or can you get it free anywhere on the ship ? I was thinking maybe in the buffet for breakfast, surely they can't charge for it there. I can't believe they charge for it at all to be honest, but hey ho they make the rules ! Thanks again for this info guys, really appreciate it :)

Skier52 Posted November 11, 2015 #29 Share Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) Definitely Jim Beam and l think Southern Comfort. I had great difficulty getting Jim Beam 'cos the waiter or barman heard 'J&B'. @swadfox..there are posts on this board that have links to the Allegrissimo list but l can't do that. Draught beer, lots of spirits, including Absolut, Jameson & Courvosier. Jack Daniels, Grey Goose and Hennessey are on Premium. Most cocktails are included. Soft drinks and specialist coffees included. If you want a Bailey's coffee, you order both separately and mix it yourself. Drinks run at about 3-5 Euro for draught beer, €5 for bottled. Spirits about € 5 plus €2.50 for a mixer. Wines about €20 plus per bottle, €8+ per glass. Gratuities will be added at 15%. Others know about the ice cream or gelato. It's great value if you like a good coffee, drink with lunch and dinner plus a cocktail or beer in the evening sunshine! It's easy. If you go to the thread of interest (in a new tab or window) and open it then 1) do a single left mouse click in the address bar (top of your screen and it begins http) it should go blue 2) press Ctrl and C together (copy command) 3) return to where you are replying 4) left mouse click, once, where you want the link to appear 5) left mouse click, once, the little blue icon of the world with a chain link on it at the top of the reply box ( a new small window opens) 6) press Ctrl and V together ( paste command ) 7) press your return button job done Edited November 11, 2015 by Skier52
olesiabr Posted November 11, 2015 #30 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I am reading this thread with great interest and trying to make a similar decision. We will have only one day at sea as well, but all dinners will be on board. I am primarily a wine drinker...OK, pretty much only a wine drinker! Will I be happy with the included wine in the package or am I better off choosing my bottles a la carte once on board? Does the classic wine package include all wines offered? It seems like that package is only available at the dinner table. What about at the lounges or shows? Don't drink coffee or eat ice cream, but do drink lots of water... Thanks for any input

If you are particular about your wine, perhaps buy a la carte? I don't know about the wine package but l strongly suspect that the more you pay, the better the wine will be! You'll also be able to enjoy some of the wines by the glass in the dedicated wine bar in the evenings. I've worked out that the Premium will be better value for me next April, when taking into account the cost of purchasing bottles as you go. The difference in price per day is €18 (after next April it'll be €21 due to the basic package price drop to €23 from €26) - 2 glasses of premium brandies alone will take care of that, plus the better wines & specialty coffees/hot chocolate, pastries & choc strawberries at the Gelataria and the cabin mini-bar included makes it a no-brainer for me!
