Princess Transfer question

We are on the Mexico cruise in February and a few of us are arriving into LAX Saturday morning at 8:30am. A couple others we know are arriving at 11am. Will the Princess transfer take us down to San Pedro pier shortly after we arrive or or will we have to wait until the other flights comes in?

An option is to fly down the previous night so that we can be at the pier bright and early. If we do that, what's the soonest we can check in at the pier?

Thank you for your help.

Generally you will have to wait until the bus fills, or at least until any clump of arrivals that might be arriving , and will mostly fill the bus, have been found and loaded on to the bus. You might be in the front of that clump, the middle, or the end. So you might have to wait a while, or not at all.

As you can't start checkin until around 11am, and boarding until a little while after that, they certainly won't hurry to get you to the port.

We have flown into LAX 3 times for a Princess cruise with Princess transfers. Each time our flight arrived at 8:30 a.m. On two occasions, the Princess bus took us to a nearby hotel where we waited in comfort. They had food and drinks for us. They also had a room set up where we did our check-in. Then we boarded buses and were taken to the pier where we boarded the ship.

The other time they took us directly from the airport to the pier. There we checked in and then sat around in much less comfort before we were allowed to board the ship.

Generally they load up buses as people arrive, so if you arrive early you will likely be on an early bus. If there are not that many people you could wait quite a while. I've seen buses leave as early as 9:00, but I've also seen them not load start loading buses until debarking passengers arrive at the airport (probably 10 or so). The greeters will be in the baggage area with a big Princess sign. Check in with them, then grab your bags and turn these over to the greeters.

They usually open the terminal to checkin around 11. Before that you will be in a line outside. Actual boarding will typically begin around noon. Earlier or later depends on when the ship is cleared and rooms are ready. With Princess you can go immediately to your room when you board.

Unlike an experience we had in FLL, we have arrived at the pier on San Pedro as early as 10:00 and never had to wait outside.
