gismo1554 Posted October 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2015 Hi Was wondering if anyone over here could help. We have a booking through a TA and had a few minor problems with them so we wrote a complaint to the travel company as a whole - just noting that they were unresponsive to emails mainly. The CEO then said he would look into it and earlier in the week we received an email that wasn't meant to go to us from the CEO aimed at our travel agent which basically slagged us off. We are trying to find out if there is a way to get the TA taken off our booking due to this so have emailed Silversea through informationdesk@silversea.com but haven't heard anything back. Does anyone have a better email address we should use? Also does anyone have any advice on whether this is even possible? We are paid in full and only 25 days out so no chance of cancelling and rebooking. The whole thing has just been very upsetting for us all and it was a Silversea recommended TA so we didn't expect that type of attitude from them. The CEO hasn't even bothered to apologise to us for this mistake and so far we have had nothing back from our TA either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. In hindsight we wish we had booked directly but it seemed easier to go through a TA or at least we thought it was from our side. We wont be making that mistake again in a hurry. Emtbsam Posted October 31, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2015 I would call Silversea directly and try to speak to someone about the issue you have. E-mail tends to get pushed off when it addresses a difficult issue. Good luck.
KaraokeQueen Posted October 31, 2015 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2015 Don't let this discourage you in the future from using an agency. Sadly, you had a bad one and there is no recourse but to inform SS not to recommend them in the future. Agencies can provide perks you will never see if dealing directly with the cruise line. Have a fabulous cruise and brush it off as experience.
gismo1554 Posted November 1, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted November 1, 2015 Thanks both. The UK office said we would need to call the US office which is why we went down the email route but we might try and call them too.
Rare ronrick1943 Posted November 9, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2015 I don't think you can do anything so near the cruise. But let the TA know you'll be looking at others next time you book. When you do book your next trip, send a copy of the invoice to the CEO and let her/him know that could have been them. Then move on and work with the new TA. We were more hoping to stop other people from having similar issues as this is one of Silversea's recommended TA's. We phoned on the weekend and they gave us an email to send the emails too so hopefully they might do something about them.
