rachelmundo Posted November 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Hi all! We will be arriving home from our Celebrity cruise on November 22nd with a flight that heads out at 8:00pm. Any ideas on where we may able to keep our luggage during that day, if hotels have day rooms, ideas of what to do, etc.? Thanks!
Celebrity Cruises Posted November 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Hi all! We will be arriving home from our Celebrity cruise on November 22nd with a flight that heads out at 8:00pm. Any ideas on where we may able to keep our luggage during that day, if hotels have day rooms, ideas of what to do, etc.? Thanks! Luggage Valet is a departure service option that streamlines the seaport-to-airport process. Luggage Valet is offered at a minimal fee of $20 per person, plus the airline luggage fees. The Onboard Check-In and Luggage Valet program is currently available on certain select airlines from FLL (American (AA), Delta (DL), United (UA), Jet Blue (B6), Air Tran (FL), Southwest (WN), US Airways (US)). Other criteria for eligibility: You must be flying on the entirety of the journey with the same air carrier. Your flight needs to be the same day of ship’s arrival. Your final destination should be within the US. No international destinations are eligible at this time. This service can only be purchased onboard the ship. Guests who participate can check their luggage and receive their airline boarding passes and baggage claim checks before leaving the ship. When they arrive at the airport, they can avoid check-in lines at the airport and proceed directly to the security checkpoint. Luggage Valet is ideal for guests who wish to simplify their transition from one of our ships to the airport. It’s also an easy way for guests who have a late flight to spend the day enjoying a land-based tour or shopping, with only the luggage they plan to carry onto the plane later. pugdad1 Posted November 4, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2015 (edited) Depending on who your flying with, there might be a luggage valet service offered on the ship during your cruise. They will take your bags right to the airport for you, and you can relax the day away in FLL. The "what to do" portion of your question might be better asked and answered in the Florida port section of this website. Thanks X, you posted wile I was writing. kenevenpar Posted November 4, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Rent a car. Trunk will keep your luggage. You can go for lunch on Los Olas. You can hop on the water taxi and do a complete loop back to where you started, some nice sights along the way. You can go on an everglades tour on an airboat. Or just go to the beach or drive around.
fflashh Posted November 4, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2015 We get off the Celebrity Reflection on Saturday 05 Dec, 2015. We are staying in a day room at the Rodeway inn & suites near FLL, but listed as Dania, Fl. Free shuttle to airport at a rate of $59.99 plus tax. We will have fun at their pool, restaurant and bar along with the convenience of having a place to freshen up before flying home. Hope this helps. dkjretired Posted November 4, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Celebrity usually runs shore excursions to the Everglades , luggage will be on bs with you. Rent a car as others mentioned and take the full circuit on the water taxi. Also, get a day room and hang at the pool if so inclined
HawaiianShirtDay Posted November 4, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 4, 2015 If you're looking for a hotel w a day rate another option is Renaissance Ft Lauderdale Cruise port. We've stayed there overnight & really liked it. I think I saw someone mention they stayed their w a day rate. If you've never been to South Beach, I recommend renting a car and driving down there. Its about an hour from FLL. You might find more info in the North American homeports Florida board.

RussCruiser101 Posted November 5, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 5, 2015 You may also want to look into an excursion to Sawgrass Mills, I believe offered by CC. This is an outlet mall with many shopping/dinning options.

SpokaneDan Posted November 7, 2015 #12 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Great post, we are having exactly the same dilemma with our departure flight -also around 8pm from FLL this coming Dec., except we've been to Everglades recently. The Rodeway Day rooms look like an excellent option. Thanks all
