Cruisin_Cheesehead Posted November 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2015 We are leaving on the Splendor this Sunday, and unfortunately, Mother Nature doesn't seem to be complying. Anyone have a suggestion for a spot where we can still catch the awesome views leaving the port of Miami, be close to a hydration station to keep my DOD full, and still be dry? Florings Posted November 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2015 I live in Florida and I haven't heard of any issues with rainy weather this weekend....Doesn't mean it isn't possible, but it is supposed to be nice and clear. Fingers crossed.
Rare LMaxwell Posted November 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2015 Florida rain USUALLY just lasts a few minutes and then is gone and the skies clear right up. I can't tell you how many times the forecast has called for cloudy days and scattered t-storms and it was sunny all day, a storm moved in, and 20-30 minutes later it was a bright sunny day again like nothing happened. Cruisin_Cheesehead Posted November 12, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted November 12, 2015 I like the way you guys think! I'm also optimistic, and know the weather can change with the wind, but we're cruising with first-time cruisers and really want them to have a fun experience. Wanted to be prepared with a back up plan in case our typical aft bar/port rail spot gets rained out.

That way you are outside, but under the lifeboats so you will stay dry. Port side gives you a view of Star Island, Allison Island, the high rise buildings in Miami, the marina, coast guard station, and south beach. Cruisin_Cheesehead Posted November 12, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted November 12, 2015 Exactly what I was looking for! Do you know what the nearest bar is, by chance? :p
Rare LMaxwell Posted November 12, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2015 Exactly what I was looking for! Do you know what the nearest bar is, by chance? :p Why the Lobby Bar of course :) Check out Cruise Deck Plans (dot) com. When you pull up the ship click "drag decks". you can resize for your screen and close out the clutter. It will show all the decks side by side and you can overlay them too. USNUZULOOSE Posted November 13, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 13, 2015 It happened to us on the Glory one year, we didn't care. We enjoyed it even though it rained.
DONDON55 Posted November 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted November 13, 2015 Exactly what I was looking for! Do you know what the nearest bar is, by chance? :p The best bar on the ship is the aft pool bar.........Leila is a great bartender and Jean is the best bar server.........at the Lido pool find Jervie and in the Atrium Lounge find Nelly and Yada..........tell them all the Richardsons say hello ! we had a ball with them in July..
jdcml Posted November 13, 2015 #11 Share Posted November 13, 2015 So the 60% chance of rain you are seeing should really be of little concern at this point. Sure, it's only a few days away, but like others have said, it's Florida. I've seen many a 70% rain day where there wasn't a drop to be found! Check the skies at 3:30 and make your plans then :D. We sail out on Saturday and I hadn't even looked yet to see that they are calling for 40% that day too.
nicoleds Posted November 13, 2015 #12 Share Posted November 13, 2015 we leave on the Breeze on Sunday and I was worried about this too. looks like rain all week, hopefully we'll still get a little sun next week.
MickeyIsMyHomeboy Posted November 13, 2015 #13 Share Posted November 13, 2015 We too set sail this weekend (Sat) on the Glory, and every port has a 70% chance of rain every hour of the day... it really can't rain THAT much, can it? Let's do our sun dance people and get that sun out!!!
Cruisin_Cheesehead Posted November 13, 2015 Author #14 Share Posted November 13, 2015 I know! We have rain scheduled everyday too. I did not think it was rainy season in November! But, prepare for the worst and hopefully we are pleasantly surprised with little rain and mucho suno!
