what happens to luggage?

It will be left at the pier.

Seriously, if you haven't been assigned a cabin before sail date, ( which 99% of the time you will ) the baggage porters will have tags, then baggage will be delivered to your cabin. Maybe a little later than others, but you will get it. Princess is not like the airlines, who seem to love losing your bags.

A few years back we were not assigned a cabin by the time we left for the airport. When we got to the pier the fellows that took the luggage looked up our cabin # and wrote it on the tags they had available. It was delivered with everyone else's by the time we were done the muster drill.

Less then two weeks out and still have not been assigned a cabin. I know it may be as late as check in before being assigned a cabin. if this is the case, what happens to luggage if there is no cabin on the tag? will our luggage be delayed? Thanks!

Yes, it's always possible to get your cabin assignment at the pier; however, most cruise line's dispatchers like to have the ship full berthed with passengers assigned cabins a day or more prior to sailing day. Just keep checking online daily for your cabin # or call RCI. If no assignment the porter at the pier will have a list of cabin assignments and will tag your luggage. This should not cause any delay in delivering your luggage.

Hi

Once we were given a temporary cabin, and told we would get our real cabin

after sailing, in that they wanted to take a block of cabins out for maintenance

but this would depend on how many no shows.

We had to get to cruise cards as well, no real problem as we were given a nice

cabin, only a few doors down.

yours Shogun

I doubt Royal Caribbean will be able to help with your cabin assignment on a Princess ship.
