QM2 Propulsion Issues?

What's this? QM2 in front and the Lifeboat behind?

Here is my theory. Based on a review of her track history, it looks like "RESCUE STBD QM2" was probably involved in some drills while in port earlier today. Now, I suspect she is actually back on board QM2 but her AIS transmitter is still turned on so she is still being tracked separately from QM2. Sometimes she is appearing behind QM2, sometimes ahead, and sometimes at the same location which I suspect is a matter of differences in timing when the AIS signals are being received from the two vessels as reported by marinetraffic.

Regards,

John.
