Left Luggage? - port of civitavecchia

Does anyone know if there's a left luggage at the port? We are doing a TA and planning on spending a couple of days in Rome before embarking on our 2nd cruise. It would be so much easier to leave a couple of luggage behind instead of dragging into Rome.

Regarding your question, from looking at the map, it appears the luggage storage is not right at the port but is at least a few blocks away. This means you would need to take the port shuttle with your luggage to the drop off (outside the new port entrance) and then walk with it to the luggage drop.

Too bad they do not have a map of that luggage drop location. Since its relatively new we have not seen the place. But an educated guess would have it somewhere near the terminal area for European ferries. We hope that if anyone ever uses the site they post detailed info here. Since there is no specific terminal building for cruise ships (most use partial tent structures located at each individual pier).

I'm not entirely sure that the address they give (and the map location) is where they store the bags, I think it may be the office. Since none of us (so far) have used it we'll have to wait until they respond to the OP's e-mail. It's typical in my experience for Italian businesses to allow days to pass before they respond to e-mail.

But that map makes little sense. The description for the luggage storage facility says it is "inside the port" near the "Highways for the Sea Terminal." But the map you link shows an area many blocks from the actual port and shows the location of the Administration Building.

Good point.

Well......it's Italy. :D

As euro cruiser suggests, perhaps that is an office.
