Rare mcatmcat Posted December 12, 2015 #27 Share Posted December 12, 2015 I prefer real ocean view balcony but since broad walk sometimes is cheaper those are the one I pick. Just my preference
harry0 Posted December 12, 2015 #28 Share Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) We are on the allure now I Amin two connecting boardwalk balconies 9711 and 9713 I am fine with it -my 2 grandkids love it They watch shows but would rather be in the wet zone for the dive shows We also enjoy watching the practices The noise is not bad at all until yesterday when a disc jockey set up speakers in the afternoon and blared out techno headache music for 2 hours straight I looked outside to see if anyone was enjoying it and the boardwalk was empty I hope this dj head pounding noise is not a new move Royal is heading towards because I saw the same guy on the promenade and pool deck Please say it isn't so We are having a great time!!!!!! Doug S Posted December 13, 2015 #29 Share Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) We usually get OV balconies on other ships, but just got off Oasis cabin 12329 - last one port side over aqua theater. There are good and bad as others have said. You can see a bit of ocean out the back, but we did miss a real 'port view'. Watched first aqua show from the seats, then second from our balcony. Seeing underwater 'behind the scenes' action from above was neat. Watching the divers and acrobats warm up and practice before aqua shows was a bonus. Very interesting to watch. Definitely a noise issue. We clearly heard shows, movies, practices, belly flop, etc... If you are a light sleeper don't plan on napping well without earplugs. Did get quiet after last show at about 10:30. Privacy was an issue. You could see across into other cabins without meaning to. DW saw an old lady in her cabin with curtains open standing there in bra and panties. She made very sure our shades were pulled when changing. People watching was possible, but mostly we saw the tops of peoples heads. I guess you could point out bald spots. Did see a few zip liners going by. Our cabin had the longest trek from the elevators. If anyone has mobility issues the cabins at our end would be less desirable.
