Just curious about the atmosphere in Spice. Is there music playing and such, or is it just a quiet place for lounging? Can you get food there?

There is a short menu of snacks/appetizers that you can order, but only available at certain hours. On sea days they do a lunch buffet (at least they did on the Epic).

 

Not sure if Spice H2O on Escape has food.

On the Nov 15 Breakaway, the Sabrett hot dog cart was stationed at the entrance to Spice H2O on at least a couple of days at lunchtime...

I did - not as good as the ones you get on the street in NYC (I bet the dirty water just isn't the same, LOL) but decent. The tropical drink probably helped!

Not sure about food, tending to no as Margaritaville is around the corner (compl. grill on BA/GA). Epic's Spice is set up quite different.

Loved the ba hot dog cart!!! Stationed in uptown...the entrance to spice....the atrium

 

Those 3 places are where I saw them

 

I believe they have 2 carts they rotate around for a couple hours each day at each location

No food at Spice on Escape. It's right beside Margaritaville. It's the same setup as Breakaway and Getaway, which have the Uptown/Flamingo Grills right outside Spice. Epic is the only one that has food in Spice, since it lacks a separate grill outside like the 'away class has. The exception, as already mentioned, is that sometimes the hotdog cart on Breakaway plants itself there.

NCL even had the hot dog carts on the Norway back in the 80s. We loved grabbing a dog by the Sunspots bar at the small pool in the middle of the ship. The Norway is still my favorite ship. Each cabin was unique, from closet size to large suites. Loved the wrought iron claw foot bathtubs in the old first class cabins. They were soo big!

Spice H20 is also where they have the parties at night. So that means music, dancing, and drinking. As far as hot tubs, I don't think I have ever experienced a cool hot tub.

On the Getaway, it was very quiet during the day. There was always something on the big screen, but it was something "chill." Scenery with relaxing music, a mellow concert, etc. At night it becomes more party-like.

 

Hot tubs were hot. The other water feature (grotto like) was cool.

 

It was my favorite place to lounge in the daytime to read while sunbathing. If I wanted more music/upbeat environment, I'd go to the main pool deck and watch the band or pool games.
