POA1 - I think you are a resident of FLL. Is I-95 in the Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood area a toll road? Are any of the major roads in the FLL area toll roads? We are coming in early for our cruise on the Oosterdam in Jan and renting a car and need to know if I should get the Sunpass module activated by the rental car agency. Thanks for your help.

The Florida Turnpike (FL SR 91) is a toll road as is the Sawgrass Expressway (FL SR 869)

The FL stands for Florida. The SR stands for State Road. You might see the route numbers on a map, but the signage uses the names.

The Fort Lauderdale area is mostly free of tolls other than those two roads. The Miami and Orlando areas have a lot more toll roads. As long as you don't need to go on the Turnpike, you should be fine.

Another tip - if you are planning to park, there's an app called Park by Phone which allows you to pay for your parking with your smartphone. There's no cost for the app, but there is a 35 cent "convenience fee" each time you park. You get email receipts and text alerts when your parking is about to expire.

It's very convenient and you don't need to carry coins or worrying about feeding the meters.

In addition to Fort Lauderdale, the app works for parking in:
