stingau Posted December 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2015 I know the best place to buy booze is Vanuatu but our cruise isn't going there. I assume Mare would not be the place to purchase, so out of Noumea, Suva, and Port Denarua/Nadi which of these would be the best value or would Carnival Spirit be the place to buy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In Noumea check out Marlenes. Prices are OK but sometimes they do not have much stock. You must have your passport number to be able to buy duty free in Noumea. To find Marlenes - Walk along the street that is on the left-hand side of Coconut Square (Rue Jean Jaures). Turn left on the street that has the Museum of Noumea on the corner (Rue Georges Clemenceau). Marlenes is on the next corner (Rue de A'lma). bigdavefc Posted December 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2015 When we went earlier in the year, we found the onboard prices were cheaper than we could find in Fiji.
Rare Kinkacruiser Posted December 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 21, 2015 The ship might just have a captive market on cruises that don't stop in Port Vila. We'll be purchasing on board in May. I always pack 4 large sheets of bubble wrap as it's not provided. At least that way we get our supplies home safely. Enjoy your cruise.:)
Russell21 Posted December 21, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2015 If you intend to buy on board then get in early, our last trip they ran out of Black Label JW pretty quickly, and many other types too.
