Just returned from our 12/12 sailing on the Escape and would like to offer any questions or information if we can answer.

Brief synopsis:

LOVED the cruise. We really enjoyed the 3 at sea days to relax and experiment with the UBP. I also posted the favorite UBP drink thread and tried almost everything on the list so ask for my favorites! :)

Beautiful ship and new smell.

Entertainment:

5 stars for The Supper Club Brat Pack. IMHO no flames. I don't think it's appropriate for kids under 12ish. Just my humble opinion. If you like 80's music you will LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

Levity: all 3 comics were outstanding, my favorite being Scott. Do reserve your spots early as suggested as shows book up quickly

Dining: 5 stars for Le Bistro, Cagney's and Food Republic, all must do if you don't mind the extra expense. 4 stars for Moderno and Teppenyaki, just wasn't as good as our last cruise. Also BOOK EARLY!!! Many slots were already close to fully booked when we got on the ship at 11:30am!!

MY ADVICE FOR DINING. If you have a general idea of when/where to dine. BOOK BEFORE YOU GO. You can always cancel or try to change your dining reserv. once onboard.

UBP was awesome and most of the barstaff was excellent including BONG at the Mojito Bar. I tipped extra to my favorites (5 of them) at the Pool Bar on deck 15.

That's it. We will be looking to book the same exact ship/itinerary in the near future.

OK. Ask away!!!!:D

I did not patron Margaritaville because of the whole bait and switch thing. I believe they were open for breakfast most days and I don't believe they changed hours of operation. That said I stopped by twice on sea days around 12pm and about 1/2 restaurant was full so it looks like there are some people willing to pay the ala carte fees to eat burgers and nachos, just not me! I did however use the bar to order the margaritas for my wife and I on the UBP :D

I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise. A positive review! Had my doubts about the Supper Club but based on a few reviews gonna give a try. Thank you.

You won't be disappointed. Everyone exiting the show was mentioning how much they enjoyed it and how talented the performers were. Excellent actors, high energy and all very mucically talented at same time.

I also forgot to add the other show, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET.

Also 5 Stars for MDQ. Add this to the must see list. Just to reiterate:

1) Must see Levity comics (all 3) very good

2) Supper Club. 5 stars. Awesome show. Best I've seen in my 25+ cruises :D

3) Million Dollar Quartet. 5 star performance. Even the little kiddies seemed to enjoy the music/entertainment

Hey! Glad to hear you loved it!

Any chance I could get your input on the nightlife scene? More specifically drinking/dancing later into the night (after 11)? Did you check out the Spice H20 party at all, is it busy and/or full of kids? Is there any other venues or anything else to do that is fun and lively/busy?

I'm mid 20s going with my gf and thinking of booking Escape and nightlife is pretty important to us so it's got me kind of worried :( Thank you, much appreciated!

Do you book the comedy shows once on board? I'm sailing in February, and can only book After Midnight, Million Dollar Quartet and the Brat Pack thing, (which I was confused and thought it was the "Rat Pack" until I went online to book it! )

We didn't check out Spice H20 after say 3pm in the day. Just not our thing but the nightlife scene was very happening on deck. I mean so many bars. Popped into the District. Had fun there. Then went to Tobacco Road. Nice crowd at the bar and on the comfy leather seats there too. Then went to 5 0clock somewhere bar which always seemed to be jumping starting in the evening till the wee hours.

So to answer your question. Nightlife is definitely good. I think you will enjoy it!

If memory serves me correct I was able to book 1 or 2 comedy shows prior to leaving and booked the rest once onboard. I can't comment for the website but I believe as the shows and time-slots get booked they eventually reach there max allotment (for pre cruise reservations) and then disappear so you can't book them. If this happens you just have to get onboard early and book them via Iconcierge (which I did) or goto the box office (for shows) or headliners for dining reservations. But take my advice. The popular dining and show slots book up extremely fast like previously mentioned. Many of the slots available were late (9pm or later) by the time I was onboard.

Not sure if you visited the main dining rooms, Savor and Taste - but - if you did, what's the difference in the two? Thank you!!

I didn't eat at any of the free dining rooms, all ala carte restaurants. I had 3 day SDP and 2 nights in Le Bistro. Sorry. I did overhear many of the cruisers at the pool that frequented the big main dining at the back and they had very good reviews

We have a free 4 day SDP.... do you have to pay gratuity on your or is it included?

Thanks!

UBP covered Mojito bar. I didn't visit the Mondavi bar but I'm guessing that same applies... any drink is covered under 15 and over 15 you pay the difference.

Thanks for replying. I heard some conflicting stories that UBP on got 20% off Mojito's at Mojito bar and that it didn't apply at the wine bar --- with didn't make sense to me.

I've re-read the T&C like 5 times and it says ALL bars and lounges etc, up to $15/drink.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed your cruise!

I also was on this sailing. We Stayed in Haven Spa suite 16114. We absolutely loved the ship. I honestly do not have one bad thing to say. if there are any additional questions I also would be happy to answer. Specifically, we lived in the spa and casino, ate at Margaretville, La Cucina, Le Bistro, Cagney's, Haven Restaurant, Moderno and Food Republic.

Let me begin by stating that my wife and I are NCL loyalists. They have always been wonderful to my family and I, and I rarely have a bad thing to say. I was a bit nervous reading the reviews about the first few escape sailings but apparently my experience was nothing like the ones prior that had complaints. Service was flawless, the ship did rock a bit, but minimally and certainly not enough for me to remark about. We ate at Margaretville (walked right in with no wait on a sea day). Food Republic is a must visit. IMO this concept should go fleet wide. It was amazing. The spa was spectacular and if you like that sort of thing, I highly recommend it. The snow room was not functioning for the first 2 sea days, and without us even remarking about it, we received an onboard credit sent to our room. Overall the trip was top notch from start to finish and we are booked already for winter of next year.

Did you happen to see my kids college money I left on the craps table in the Casino?

LOL....I actually did really well in the casino. Generally that is not the case but for me it was one of those weeks where I was hitting hand after hand in 3 card poker and my wife had similar luck playing blackjack. Our winnings ended up paying for our entire bill. :D

Ill be on the escape in a few months. Can you please send that horseshoe or 4 leaf clover my way[emoji12]. Questions about Food Republic? Are they open for lunch or just dinner? What are some of the highlights that's a must try? Thanks in advance for info.
