Cruising during Christmas

They don't do anything special for your anniversary. Tons of passengers are celebrating something on a cruise. You can treat yourself to extras but you'll have to pay for them. I don't know what happens for Christmas but I'd expect some decorations on board for sure!

Prices go up and down all the time. It depends on how many people book the cruise .

There is really nothing special done for Christmas. There are a few decorations in the ship, especially the atrium and the dining rooms, and on Christmas day they typically offer a " traditional" Christmas meal. The beauty of cruising at Christmas is that you are away from home and all the hustle and bustle, we enjoy it because the cruise replaces a lot of gifts that we buy but don't need. Having said that if you have kids in HS and younger I don't think it works well because of the expectation for gifts, but with older kids it is a wonderful time for the family to be together and celebrate the season.

The amount of incorrect information on this board is astounding.

For aniversaries:

You can order decorations and treats such as wine or chocolate strawberries. If you ask, the waiters will also sing "happy anniversary" to you in the MDR with dessert.

Christmas:

We just got off a Christmas cruise and YES they did quite a lot. The entire ship was decorated including a gingerbread village. Many staff and crew (and passengers) wore various forms of holiday garb such as Santa hats which they even passed out along with jingle bells one night. They also had holiday backdrops for photos, photos with Santa, holiday music in the atrium, holiday sing a long, ugly sweater contest, and a very large holiday show where even the captain participated in a reading of Night before Christmas. Oh and they made it snow in the atrium. They even incorporated The Grinch into several events including the CDs morning show. Many cabin doors were decorated for the season and of course there was holiday decor and fun at each port.

We went with family including kids and it was all much better than anything we could offer at home.
