Is the Japanese breakfast gluten free?

I would think the soup is a vegetable stock; rice is regular white. The tamagoyachi seems pretty much pure egg Definitely ask ahead of time, like after dinner the first night.

It is an excellent breakfast, and a huge favourite of mine, as long as the salmon is cooked through. Some ships do not seem to thaw the salmon in a timely manner and it comes out raw in the centre.

Thank you both for your thoughts. I'm sure the steamed rice will be fine, as will the salmon, it's the miso soup and tamagoyaki that may not be (the soup could be made with a wheat base or include non-gluten free soy sauce). I will definitely ask in the dining room! As much as I love my poached eggs with hollandaise and bacon, I want to try to have at least a few healthy breakfasts :)
