apuleius Posted January 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2016 What time can you board? On SB although official boarding is at 2pm guests are allowed on early and can take lunch on board until suites are ready. Is the same true for SS?

Rare WesW Posted January 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Echo what DT says above--we have boarded every one of our multiple SS cruises before noon. We plan to board the Spirit later this month just prior to noon. We check in, get our suite cards (suites are not ready until after 2pm (sometimes earlier)) then head to La Terraza for a leisurely lunch.
dougburns Posted January 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2016 A lot depends on where the ship is coming in from. Customs and immigration at FLL can vary quite a bit. We've generally been able to board @ noon, but had a couple of times when they were late getting pax off and we weren't able to board until @ 1330-1400. Mark_K Posted January 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Done it twice. One time we arrived around 11:30, walked right on the ship, and it didn't appear they had just opened. The other time we arrived around noon and couldn't board until after 12:30.
Rare RachelG Posted January 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2016 I have boarded at noon. Walked straight on, was checked in and up in La Terraza having lunch in less than 5 minutes.
yogagal47 Posted January 6, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 6, 2016 We are on the Spirit out of Fort Lauderdale next Friday. So confused about when to show up. It would certainly be nice to be able to board before the prescribed time of 2pm but what happens if we show early and cannot go aboard?

Assuming you're not so early that the arrivals area hasn't been set up yet, they will take your checked luggage, and process you through the whole normal procedure up to the point of boarding the ship. Then you will be given a colored tag and asked to sit in the waiting area until boarding starts and your color is called.
