mikemc1231 Posted January 5, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2016 We are traveling on the escape this Saturday. I know the ship is new but does anyone have any tips they found. Any quiet areas to relax, Bars that you shouldn't miss. Anything really that might enhance our trip. Thanks
aquarianne11 Posted January 5, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2016 We got our Spa Passes before our Dec 12th cruise and that really enhanced our experience. The Spice H20 looks super cool with the grotto water feature. The Waterfront on Deck 8 looks very nice and relaxing. Have a great cruise! :)
weltek Posted January 5, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Good thread. I'm wondering if there are any scheduling tips (e.g., go to "X" early in the cruise because by the end it was really crowded; Howl is busy the first hour and then dies down, so if you don't get a seat right away, come back, etc.)? groundhog22 Posted January 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2016 The spa is located directly below the gym so if you are planning a massage or something relaxing check the schedule to make sure there isn't a class going on in the gym or you will hear banging and pounding the whole time!!! pambo Posted January 6, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 6, 2016 If you are looking for a quiet spot to relax or read during the day, head to the Waterfront-port side. There are a lot of chairs/couches. When we were on in December, there were usually only a handful of people there taking a quick nap or reading....nice quiet spot.

Rare BirdTravels Posted January 7, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 7, 2016 We are traveling on the escape this Saturday. I know the ship is new but does anyone have any tips they found. Any quiet areas to relax, Bars that you shouldn't miss. Anything really that might enhance our trip. Thanks If you have been on NCL ships before, try the new things. The Tapas bar is fun with small bites that can be shared. The Food Republic has great food to share. The 2-story ropes course with 2 planks is bigger and better than the GA and BA. The spa is big and spacious, eliminating the crowding on BA and GA. And the saunas are back with window views looking over the ocean. Along with the snow room which was interesting, but only worth a few minutes (until you get really cold). Waterfront dining is always a treat if the weather is nice. Or just a nice place to sit, have a drink, and enjoy the ocean views. Now that NCL has dumped Carlos, the bakery is actually improving. And the cantilever hot tubs that hang over the edge of the ship on the 17th deck are an interesting addition. The sun deck up there is pretty quite (and away from the main pool area which has become increasing noisy with the addition of video screens to encourage loud music from the DJ). Is there a day pass for the spa? If so, what is the cost? And is it worth it? Thanks :)
