With 2018 sailings starting to be released I was wondering if anyone has any news on when Celebrity will reveal info for the new 'project edge' ships and open up reservations? Seems like there hasn't been a single piece of news since the the press release in Dec'14.

That's the way Celebrity has done it in the past, usually the first bit of information will be a press release that they are cutting the first piece of steel. Dribs and drabs will start coming out. One other thing they also do is announce the name. In the past they have done that on the first day of one of the seasons. Look for a 1st day of Spring announcement.

dkj - I assume you mean announcing the name of the ship. Not likely to get cruises announced anytime soon. At this time there is no ship and construction has not really begun. They will not have a firm date to begin cruises until trials have started in 2018. This will be different compared to the last couple of S class ships as the ship will require a more complex certification as the design is new.

Are u saying the ship will be done and at sea getting certified before any sailing dates are announced?

Yes, naming of ship, in the past they frequently announce the naming on the first day of a new season since all Celebrity ships have been named with celestial names.
