Rare dronnygirl Posted January 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2016 Has anyone visited this place? What is there to see/do there? Many thanks,
Chairsin Posted January 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) We are going there for the first time this June. Supposedly it is a small resort town with a castle above the harbor. Edited January 12, 2016 by Chairsin
Rare cruisemom42 Posted January 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2016 Curious which cruise line or lines are stopping in Cesme? There are so many interesting ports in Turkey, but this one wouldn't be a top choice for me.
Chairsin Posted January 14, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2016 Our cruise that will stop there is Seabourn. And frankly small off the beaten path ports of call are one of the things we love about cruising on their small ships. It is quite pleasant not to park next to a mega ship where thousands of passengers can quickly mask the charm of these little towns.

I also sail small ships (Voyages to Antiquity's Aegean Odyssey and Swan Hellenic's Minerva, both of which carry about 300-330 passengers). They also stop at ports off the beaten path -- but usually because there is something worth seeing or doing there, usually historic. Boreus Posted January 16, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2016 While this information in Fodor's blog on Cesme is four years old, I thought it had some information you might find of use: http://www.fodors.com/community/europe/turkey-beaches-cesme-or-olu-deniz.cfm
