Thanks Clodia that's a great tip. I was up on deck early when we sailed to Kotor which was stunning and hardly anyone on deck!!!

 

From all those that have sailed to the fjords is the crossing to Norway choppy and different to Mediterranean

 

When I went in April 2013 the North Sea was calm, the fjords are calm but one night we had to go out a fjord go into the Norweigan Sea for a bit then back into another fjord. The Norweigan Sea was pretty rough that night! The Captain said we would enter the next fjord about 1am - and sure enough everything calmed down again at 1am and I could get some sleep :)
