catwoman6226 Posted January 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2016 Hello! A friend and I are cruising next month on the Emerald Princess, in one of their handicapped accessible balcony cabins. She owns a scooter, but I am renting one to be delivered to the cabin. Does anyone have any experience with having two scooters in a cabin? Any special issues we should be aware of? I know these cabins are bigger than standard size ones, and we fully anticipate that space may be tight with two scooters - so guess I'm hoping for some tricks/tips etc. that will help us. Thank you! searoses Posted January 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2016 I would contact her special needs line to be sure you will be able to promptly plug them in......outlets always at a premium.....otherwise I should think 2 will fit with some figuring it out ... You should have plenty of room. I could have parked a car in some accessible cabins I had. Bring a plug to allow three items to plug in a two outlet plug or an extension cord or both. Rare Essiesmom Posted January 18, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2016 Go to http://www.cruisedeckplans.com and you can see pictures of the accessible balcony cabins on Crown, Emerald, and Ruby Princess. Just choose your ship, scroll down to Balcony cabins, click on Handicap cabins, and it will show you which cabins are HC and pictures, if any. Not much on Emerald, but more on ruby and Crown (identical ships, identical cabins). EM
catwoman6226 Posted January 20, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted January 20, 2016 Thanks very much for the replies. I think we're already set with power strips. I've seen some pictures of a similar cabin on different sites and feel reassured that we'll be just fine.
Rare Essiesmom Posted January 20, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2016 If you have a Caribe deck cabin your balcony will be twice as big, with ample space for two scooters to park/manouver...EM
born2cruize Posted January 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) We did 28 days back in 2014 aboard the Emerald Princess out of Southampton. We both used our Travelscoots and had plenty of space to maneuver around. We were on the Plaza deck room 340 behind the IC. We just reurned from the Emerald last week and had an accessible balcony cabin on Aloha deck. My DH requires the use of a scooter and there was plenty of room, you shouldn't have any problems with 2 scooters in the cabin. Just bring a power strip because these rooms never have enough plugs Enjoy your cruise!!
